SLG-Supported Project Wins National Quality Engineering Gold Award

SLG is proud to have contributed to the Shanghai Miao Green, Smart and Multi-Energy Complementary Demonstration Project, which has received the National Quality Engineering Gold Award, one of China’s highest honors for engineering quality.

The project features two 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired units and plays an important role in supporting long-distance power transmission and improving grid flexibility.

A key part of the project is SLG’s all-steel indirect air-cooling system, including a world-leading million-kilowatt-class steel cooling tower solution. The technology is designed to reduce water consumption, support flexible operation and maintain reliable performance under demanding environmental conditions.

The project also demonstrates how large thermal power units can work more effectively with renewable energy, helping improve peak-shaving capability and support greater integration of wind and solar power.

From receiving the China Industry Award to now contributing to a National Quality Engineering Gold Award project, SLG continues to advance high-efficiency cooling technologies and engineering solutions for a more flexible and lower-carbon power system.
